I Like Obama, But He Sucks as President

I try to avoid the news as much as possible lately. The more I read or watch, the more depressing it is, and the more I lose faith in this country.

Here we have our elected president, Barack Obama, a supposedly "liberal" Democrat, failing us at every turn. This debt-ceiling deal fiasco is just another failure. Obama caved in once again to the Republicans, keeping all the Bush tax-cuts for the rich, while agreeing to huge spending cuts that will hurt the most in need (the unemployed, people facing foreclosure, the poor, etc.). It also seems likely that deep cuts will be made on environmental programs, so clean air and water will soon be a thing of the past.

To give Obama a little credit, I realize that he is up against the most radical and extreme GOP that I've ever seen. This isn't the first time the GOP has held the country hostage with their demands. I think they would rather see the country go bankrupt than give up a single break for the top 1% of the country.

But, alas, Obama is a weak president. He's the wimp who doesn't stand up to the playground bully. He's the kid who gives up his lunch money when the bigger kid comes around and demands it. Rather than punch the kid in the nose, he just empties his pockets . 73% of the country want Obama to raise taxes on the rich, yet he still doesn't do it. So sad. How would Hillary Clinton have handled this? Frankly, I think she's got far more balls than Obama. I am now certain she would have made a better president.

If another Democrat came forward to challenge Obama, I would support them whole-heartedly. It doesn't seem likely, though, which makes for a very depressing 2012.

  1. Mitch McConnell is one of the few people in Washington who truly understands and comprehends the fiscal complexities the U.S. faces. That he is a Republican is irrelevant. No one in their right mind would choose an accountant based on his or her political beliefs.
And you are colloquially correct; Obama does suck. Yet, Obama has always sucked because he was always all semblance and no substance. Rhetoric is cheap even if it does sounds good. The reality of the man is that he is unaccomplished. A excerpt from a recent Newsweek ( A liberal publication f.y.i.) explains it plainly: Obama has never run a business or a state; had an unremarkable career as a law professor at the University of Chicago, publishing nothing in his 12 years there other than his autobiography; And that, before joining the U.S. Senate, he occasionally, as an Illinois state senator, voted "present" on difficult issues.

The people who bought into Obama in 2008 are the same unfortunate souls who are easily talked into purchasing the proverbial "used car" that was only driven by the little ol' lady from Pasadena. I hate to sound so mean, but it scours clean to the truth of it. Obama is nothing more than a slick talking "pre-owned" vehicle sales engineer, if you get my drift. The moment he has sold you the lemon, he forgets who you were.

I may be a conservative, but I personally think Hillary Clinton should be drafted to replace Obama as the Democratic nominee for POTUS. How about it?

Yes, indeed... Even as a cons

  2. Obama is no more liberal than Bush was conservative.

The problem with Obama, and what really pisses off the people who voted for him, is that we really do get the government we deserve. The majority of the few people who bothered to vote voted for a man they knew absolutely nothing about. He promised change with defining what that change would be or how it would be accomplished. This should always make voters exercise extreme caution, but it never does. Like sheep to the television set, Americans vote for whoever has the best bumper stickers. Ironically, Obama brought very little change.

Fake liberals bent over backward to vote for the obscure black man while real liberals knew that the right thing to do was vote for the woman. Clinton would have made a much better president.
